Morigaon Polytechnic is one of the 5 new polytechnics starting their session from 1st August 2018 (2018-19). It is located on a sprawling area of 40 Bighas (13.27 Acres) of land at Kachamari Pathar north of Morigaon Town in Morigaon District. It is about 3 KM and about 10 minutes away from the Morigaon Town. Morigaon Polytechnic has applied for AICTE approval for the Diploma courses in Civil, Electrical and Medical Electronics Engineering for the academic session 2018-19.
On 2011, Government of Assam has decided to establish 21 new polytechnics in 21 districts as per centrally funded scheme and one new polytechnic at Titabor, Jorhat under State Funded scheme. For theses 21 polytechnics, Additional Secretary to the Government of Assam, Higher Education Department has requested The Commissioner & Special Secretary to Government of Assam, PWD (Building and NH) to furnish DPR (for Civil Work) of Rs. 8.00 Crore on 10th October, 2011.
